There are various references to tangerine in Arab literature. The word tangerine comes from the ancient French word Ṣanger, which means "to peel." The prefix Tim- (meaning "over") and -erine (-ing) gave us the English word "tangerine," andدوهرة meaning "peeling." Tangerine is a sweet citrus fruit, and like any other fruit, it has been enjoyed by Arabs for centuries. Arabic is a language that has been spoken for more than two thousand years, and it still retains some of the antique and Orientalisms that are so characteristic of its culture. Today’s world is filled with a great variety of cultures and languages, but there’s one culture that largely remains untouched: the Arabic culture. ![]()
